Scottish golf is not all about links golf and the two magnificent heath land courses at Blairgowrie Golf Club bear testament to this adage. Lying north of the town of Perth, the Rosemount course winds its way round beautiful heath land fairways, lined by forests of pine and silver birch. A liberal sprinkling of purple heather, broom and gorse, add considerable colour to an already majestic setting.

The course has a crispness in the turf that encourages good shots and the fairways are surprisingly generous, despite each hole having a tree lined definition as it undulates through the forest.

The round starts with a tough par four of almost 450 yards and there are many fine holes throughout - including the par four, 4th hole, rated as the hardest on the course and the wonderful 165-yard par three, 17th hole, with its difficult tiered green.

The recently upgraded clubhouse is nothing short of magnificent and this club oozes class and tradition. It may not have the reputation of the famous Scottish links, but it does provide a welcome change from the windswept coastal courses that are so prevalent in this part of Britain.
