Located in the tranquil, picturesque Dorset countryside, Broadstone is a fine example of a heathland course, with many heather-lined fairways and copses abounding over its eighteen holes. 

There is a regular debate as to whether Broadstone is better than its close neighbour Parkstone, but realistically they are both excellent courses and reviews are always subjective when comparisons are made.

In our opinion, it is akin to Sunningdale and The Berkshire – without the stature perhaps, but with great views over the Purbeck Hills and Poole Harbour.   

It is not long by today's standards, but does incorporate a lot of elevation changes and some extremely difficult holes – particularly 7. Considering the rolling nature of the terrain, there are refreshingly not many blind holes, although the aforementioned seventh has a partly blind tee shot followed by a really long carry to the green – stroke index one for a very good reason!

An inland course with some stiff breezes, punishing heather and greens with subtle borrows. Definitely worth a visit, in an area where there are a lot of quality courses.
