Technically this course only opened in 2000 although history tells us that golf was played on this site in 1793. It just took a long while to upgrade the place!!

Considering the infancy of this course, it is little short of fantastic with its dramatic seaside location, classic links turf and creative design. Virtually every hole has inspiring views of the North Sea with the high tide foaming over the rocks below. It is only 6 miles from the legendry Old Course at St Andrews, but it is infinitely more scenic and worthy of its position amongst the elite of British seaside courses.

The links boasts spacious fairways, which roll and twist through majestic dune ridges and hollows, while its large inviting greens present the golfer with subtle challenges.

From the back tees it is well over 7000 yards and realistically you need to be single figures to cope with the carries and difficulties presented by the Championship teeing area. From the forward tees however, it is much more amenable and an opportunity for all golfers to enjoy both the course and the surroundings.

Every hole to us was a gem and unbelievably this course will be even better when it matures.
