This just has to be the most spectacular place to play golf anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere and this short review just cannot do it justice!

Laid out on a narrow headland south of Cork in Southern Ireland, it is not a links by any stretch of the imagination – I don't think they have dunes that high! Cliff tops are synonymous with high winds however and with over 7000 yards from the back tees, this is a severe test for even the very low handicapper. Indeed some of the tees have 250 foot drops to Atlantic waves crashing onto the rocky shore and "provisional" is a common word on this golf course.

There is no artificial trickery here it is a very good golf course in its own right with the location turning the "very good" into "stunning". The tee shot and views from the 12th tee are the most incredible we have ever seen and if you do get to play here, pause to take a look from the back tees at the 18th and envisage your drive.

The whole round is an experience, albeit an expensive one. It is a treat in more ways than one.
