Preferential Green Fee

Another 27 hole complex where opinion is divided on the favoured two nines from the aptly named "Himalayas", "Dunes" and "Shore".

Dunes and Shore make up the "Championship" course with the Himalayas being that much shorter, although apparently preferred by members. From the back tees, the Championship course is well over 7000 yards, but whichever two you choose, you will find the traditional links attributes; pot bunkers, fast greens, subtle borrows, strong winds and most of all punishing rough. Definitely lost ball country unless you are very very lucky!

The course does play second fiddle to its near neighbour Royal St Georges, but it is less expensive and still a wonderful place to play golf. In all truth, it is difficult to select a signature or favourite hole because there was not one that stood out above the others. There were a lot of great holes, the greens were as good as you would want and the history and surroundings make the journey to this remote part of Kent very worthwhile.
