Wentworth East is not particularly long, just over 6300 yards, and is undoubtedly overshadowed by the major events that are held on the West Course. Whilst everyone wants to the play the famous West, the East is in fact more suited to the average golfer and is a cheaper option with some great holes; particularly the par 3's.

The course zig zags through the mature trees that are so prominent in the beautiful leafy Wentworth estate and it is very easy to lose your sense of direction. The course calls for careful shot making rather than length and the cleverly designed bunkering is guaranteed to catch you out if you are evenly slightly off line.

Probably the hardest and best hole is the 11th, a long Par 4 double dog leg which demands shaping your two shots in different directions. The finish is also tough with two long par 4s and a tricky downhill 215-yard par 3 sandwiched in between.

This is a very nice course to play and the springy turf in this part of Surrey is a pleasure to walk on. Don't forget to take advantage of the splendid clubhouse and capture the atmosphere of this Golfing Mecca.
