Part of the trio of 'W' courses that back onto one another in this leafy corner of Surrey, (Woking and Worplesdon are the others), West Hill is a heathland course which can well be described as having charm and finesse, with a severe bite for those that are wayward.

There is a feeling of space and privacy at this undulating and very pretty course that winds its way through towering Scots pines. Although a par of 69, the heather and the ever encroaching little brook, keeps your scoring in check.

The secret of this course is to score well on the par 3’s (there are 5 of them) and the 15th in particular is a real test: 211 yards from the back tee, with a hogs back in the middle of the green that produces the inevitable three putt if your tee shot lands on the wrong side of it.

The 18th is a superb finishing hole with heather to the right, pine trees on the left and the clubhouse tight behind the long 3 tiered green. A great finish to a great course.
